    Little Woman   by Louisa May Alcott
    This book is about 4 sisters who live with their poor mother, while their Dad is in the war. They go through plenty of hard times,(like when Beth - the youngest - has scarlet fever.)
    In the end their Dad comes home and the family lives happily after that. I enjoyed this book and would recommend it to you as a very good girls book!! Iwould rate this book 9/10.

    Heidi Grows Up   by Charles Tritten
    Heidi Grows Up is about what Heidi does after the first book HEIDI.
    She goes to a boarding school and then comes back to the village where her grandfather lives, and teaches at the school there. She then got on to a mystery about a boy at her school....(and the rest you need to find out by reading the book.)
    I personally rate this book 10 out of 10!!
    It is a very ideal girls book, and is full of fun and adventure!!

    Heidi's Children  by Charles Tritten
    Heidi's Children, is about Heidi having her friends sister Marta come to Dorfil, while Heidi is pregnant she treats Marta like her own daughter and trys to stop her tantrums. When Heidi has her 2 children the grandfather dies afterwards and Marta is upset and doesn't want to go back to her parents untill Heidi convinces her of the goodness of it and not to be afraid. I perrsonally would rate this book 10/10 it's excellent to end the series and has a real catchy theme.

    Charlie and the Chocolate Factory     by Roald Dahl
    Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is about a little, poor boy called Charlie that buys a chocolate bar with a GOLDEN TICKET inside it. This means he gets to go in Willy Wonka's factory and see the making of chocolate and other strange but yummy snacks. I recommend this fantastic book, and also if you read it you may want to watch the thrilling movie as well!!
    It is an excellent book for both boys and girls who are into fantasy fun!!

    The Tiger Rising, is about a boy who finds a tiger on his fathers business mans property. The boy tells his secret to a well dressed girl at school. Together they let it free, but when the boys father sees it he shoots it thinking it ate them, but it didn't! This book is a sad feeling book, so I rate 6 out of 10.
  • Igraine the Brave

    This book is about a girl called Igraine. While her parents are making her birthday present they turn into pigs. Awhile after this there neighbour is planning to steal their books of magic. Igraine goes of on a adventure, to find some red giants hair so her parents can be humans again. She returns with the hair so they can fight their evil neighbours and keep the books of magic safe.
    Read this book to see if Igraine and her family wins the battle, and if it ends happily. I would rate this book 8

    He goes on a daring and dangerous adventure with 7 dwarves. Along the way he finds a magic ring which helps him even more. I recommend this adventrous book to all girls and boys aged 11+.
    This book is a thriller fantasy and is in the process of being a mayjor movie.So go read THE HOBBIT!!

    This story is about a girl called Lila. She goes on a plane which is suddenly hijaked and goes out of control. Lila has enough time to jump in a weapons pod before it crashes. Find out what happens next by reading this awesome book.
    I would recommend this to adventrous christian readers,
    both boys and girls.
    This is a dramatic and topic changing book, which I would rate 10/10.

    The Legend of Annie Murphy       by Frank E.Peretti
    This book is about a lady called Annie Murphie,who has been seen both in the past and the present.Two kids go after her and find themselves in a timewarp thing. In the end everyone needs to get to Crys Murphy's grave to end the ghost imaging time warp. I recommend this excellent book to all boys and girls aged 12+. It's a heart-breaking, scary but then mysterious book. I would rate this book 8/10, maybe because it is scary in some places - but then it gets better.

    This story is about an abadoned house, which has been used for kids secret meeting; that has now beaome owned. The neighboughs are disapointed about this happening until they hear that an elderly lady is blind and can not see the beautiful garden!
    This book is for girls aged 9+.
    It is filled with adventure, joy and happiness you won't, want to miss reading it!!!!!!!!!!!

    This book is about a hobbit called Frodo. Frodo in Part 1 (this book,) travels from the Shire to go through tough and peaceful times from fighting orcs to sleeping in tall trees. I recommend this brilliant book to boys and girls who enjoy fantasy. This book is 9/10.
    If you do decide to read this book be sure to read the other two parts as well as 'The Hobbit.'

    This book is a war story on Falklands Islands, athough it's a fiction it's based on a real event.
    I recommend this book to all boys, aged 10+, that enjoy guns and war. It is definately not a girls story so I rate it 4/10.

    This is a tale about a dog called Best Mate. He goes from a happy park life to living ruff on the street, he always finds a home!
    I definately recommend this book as a sad but enthusiatic fun book. It's sutiable for both boys and girls aged 10+.

    This is not a classic war story, but is a war story with a enormous twist.
    I recommend this fantastic book to all children (aged 11+,) who enjoy enthusiasim, fun and elephants!!!!
    I also recommend the other books that Michael Morpugo has written, as he is an excellent author!!

    Running Wild   by Michael Morpurgo
    This book is about a boy who escaped a tsunami in Indonesia by escaping on an elephant called Oona. Oona and the boy have many adventures which include oranga-tans and tigers!!
    I definately advice all boys and girls reading at an average level (age 10+) to read this book. It contains loads of adventure, emotions (sadness, grief and happiness,) and has one very special elephant, OONA!!
    I would rate this book 10/10 because it's an excellent childrens novel!

    This is a devastating story of a boy named Aman and his mother and his friend (dog) Shadow.
    I recommend this book to mature children ,both boys and girls, it contains war, adventure, cruelty (to humans and animals) and an amazing sniffer dog, Shadow!
    (The book can be quite gruesome in some parts.)

    This puffin classic has been well known since my grandparents were little, meaning this book has been famous for many years!! I recommend this book as an excellent classic, for both boys and girls aged 10+. This book contains a truck load of adventures, big secrets and of course PIRATES!!
    I enjoyed this book because it contained lots of pirates language and songs: 'Fifteen men on the dead man's chest- Yo-ho-ho and a bottle of rum!'
    I rate this book 8/10!!

    This is an exciting full-of-suspense action adventure book you will not want to stop reading it!!
    The Tooth is sutiable for both boys and girls aged 9+. You will especially enjoy this book if you are a dinosaur freak or a horse lover. Are you wandering why I say dinosaurs and horses, well you have to read the book to find out!!

    This is a very emotional book fulled with love, grief and animals. I recommend this for girls and older boys who have a passion for pets and can handle reading about death of animals. (This is story is about a foot and mouth disease that has brought stress and tears to heaps of pet animals deaths!) I also recommend you read other books that Michael Morpurgo has written, eg, Running Wild and/or Shadow!
    Hopefully you read some of his books, he is an excellent author!!

    Cry of the Taniwha, is suitable for both boys and girls ( aged 11+) who enjoy adventure, mystery and danger!!
    I also recommend two others of his books - The Tooth and Whale Pot Bay!!

    This book is full of action adventure and suspense, making you feel more interested as the story goes on! Note: this book is not based on a true story! If you have already read this book try another one of his books....... Where Cuckoos Call........The Tooth!

    This a heart-warming loved book.
    I recommend boys and girls aged 11+ to read it.
    It can get very emotional in times but that is soon changed to happiness at the end of the book!
    I enjoyed reading this book because it describes lots of New Zealand towns and cities. Personally I think this is better to a book when it is set in your well known home country!
    I would rate this book 10/10. It was an excellent book!!

    This is an absorbing book which makes you stay glued to the story until you have finished.
    Cool is suitable for girls and boys and makes children understand the effects of a coma and what it feels like. The book has exciting parts which atract the audience and sometimes boring parts which are quickly replaced by exciting senarios.
    I definately recommend this booka s a easy 11 year oldbook suitable for boys and girls and full of excitement and grieve.

    This is another excellent copy of Des Hunts books.
    If you are a keen reader of adventure and mystery then this is the book for you. It is suitable for children 11 years and older. It contains portions of violence and death but mostly is a adventure book. I rate this book - 10/10 because, (like all other Des Hunt books,) never leaves a book boring. He may have a paragraph or two a bit boring which then is replaced by adventure and excitement that you won't wnt to put the book down!!

    The Peco Incident is a very dramatic and effective book. It catches the readers attention in the very first paragraph. It tells about a boy called Nicholas Clark who has a mental problem. Nicholas comes to stay with his cousin, aunty and uncle in New Zealand. While he is here they are dragged into a secret mission to find out why the Peco Farm is filled with dying birds, while there is a suspicious hippie couple who seem to be always at the scene.

    This book is quite an easy book to read with great humour and suitable for all the family to read. It catches the readers attention in the very first paragraph and adds humour to it as well! I specifically enjoyed reading this book because the dog gave Opal lots of friends by being so silly and cute to the people around him. I would recommend this book to 8+ kids who are confident with reading. I would rate this book 8/10 because it is absolutely hillarous but can get a bit boring at times.
