He conquered Cuba and was twice elected mayor of Santiago, capital of Hispaniolia. He conquered the Aztecs and their leader Montezuma. -

Pineda was the first to map the Gulf Coast from Florida to Texas. It is important because he made a report on the region making other explorers to explore the region. -

DeVaca Voyage Part 1
DeVaca went in search for gold in Florida with his leader Narvez. -
Nov 6, 1528
DeVaca discovers Texas
DeVaca started an expeditionto Florida with Narvez his leader and with 300 men. They set up a meeting place for everyone to meet. Less then half of his men got lost and went to meet on a different place, so DeVaca though they were dead. He later built 5 boats to get back to Cuba. They had a bad day and shipwrecked on Galveston with only 80 survivors. -

Moscoso' Expedition
Fernando De Soto and Moscoso went on a expedition to find gold. They were exploring Texas since no one had actually explored it since Pineda made the map. They explored and explored and found nothing. On the journey De Soto died of a fever, the Indians thought he was a god , so they buried him and then they got suspiscious and dug him up and threw him at the Mississippi River. Moscoso went back home and gave the same report that Coronado gave. -

Fray Marcos and Esteban Journey
Esteban was a guide for the priest Fray Marcos in the journey. Fray was later killed by the Zuni Indians for demanding their women and food. Esteban said he would go ahead and send white crosses as signs that they killed Fray. Before he died he reported that he saw the most beautiful grand and golden city. Coronado will be sent to find this "Grand city" -

Coronado's Expedition
Coronado is set to find Cibola. He finds nothing but a Zuni Indian Village. When the Zunis resist the Spanish, he burns 200 alive. The natives send "Turk" to lure the Spanish away from them. Turk tells Coronado of a city better than Cibola. it was called Quivera. Turk led Coronado through 5 states, hoping the spanish would parish away from the harsh conditions, but it did not work. He finds out that Turk lied to him and made Turk dig his grave and strangles him.
