    The Romans
The romans were the first to create concrete. It was created sometime BC. They used limestone, volcanic ash and stones.
This was very sturdy and structures are still standing after 2000 years. The pantheon is still the biggest concrete dome ever made (126 A.D.), and it uses Roman concrete. Citation: Moore, David. • Hydraulic cement

    Hydraulic cement
Hydraulic cement was a new way to replace the old aggregates, materials like clay and rocks, with other materials like sand. The old aggregates could be too heavy or weak or just too big. Hydraulic cement was formed by burning lime and other ingredients together with powdered brick.

  • Portland Cement

    Portland Cement
Portland cement was simpily a more advanced version of hydraulic cement. It was more advanced because of the new way of creating the aggrigate. it is a similar process, but it uses newer machines to make it. It is still used today because of how it greatly strengthens the concrete.

  • reinforced cement

    reinforced cement
Reinforced concrete is where you take concrete and you support that further with things like rebar or steel cables. The support is usually put down and the concrete is poured around it. The use of support is still being used today. Many of the concrete structures since it's creation used this strategy to make structures last.

  • Modern Cement

    Modern Cement
More recently, there were many different types of cement and concrete developed for practically any use. For example, there are special heavy concretes for the bases of buildings, and another lighter types for the upper parts of buildings. Portland cement may still be in use, but there are many other types now.

  • Translucent Concrete

    Translucent Concrete
Translucent Concrete is created by putting special fibers in the Concrete. The fibers transmit light. The fibers were invented by Hungarian architect Aron Losonczi. This is useful because it looks good and it is as strong as regular concrete.
