    The great empire of Rome begins to decline as the empire is so stretched out and then it splits in half to form the west and east empire ruled by Theodosious sons Arcadius (east) and Honorius who was ten at the time (west). The middle class which was the real backbone of the empire started to dissapear. All while the germanic clans such as the Visigoths begin to gain power and lurk dangerously. Also during this period the tempertature began to drop as so the population of rome itself from 65-50M

    The city of Rome was sacked on 24/8/410 by the Visigoths led by there most famous king Alaric. This was'nt the first time they attacked Rome as they tried twice before, rome luckily for the western empire was not the the capital at the time for strategic reasons but this attack really hurt as the the romans knew that rome was there true heart of the empire

    A deadly plague that is still well known today was ''the black death'' it was most likely brought in from asia. England had no medical reaserarch and easieled succumbed to the black death which could kill victims as fast as 2-3 days, the reason it is called the black death is the black spots you get when you have it. The black death killed 1.5 million people.

There raids were ussually quite succesful as they could attack places who were quite hard to get to, by travelling by boat as they were very seaworthy.
