Time Line of Thomans Khun 07/18/1922~ 06/17/1996

  • Writing of 'The Corpenican Revolution'

It is the first book written by Thomas Kuhn. This book is considered to have broken down conventional wisdom about science and presented a new view of science.
  • Writing 'The Structure of Scientific Revolutions'

The Structure of Scientific Revolutions was published in 1962, and the second in 1970. In particular, the second edition is recognized as a blackout because it contains Postscript, Kun's answer to a number of questions raised after the publication of the first edition. "The Structure of the Scientific Revolution" is evaluated as one of the representative literatures representing the position against the scientific realism even today in the 21st century.
  • What is The Scientific Revolution

  • Becoming the mainstream

As the revolution of the scientific structure spread to each field of study, it was at the International Conference on Philosophy of Science and Philosophy held at the London School of Economics in 1965. The symposium of this conference was originally intended to explore the significance of Karl Popper's philosophy of science, but as most presenters, including Popper, refute Kun's philosophy of science, the symposium for Karl Popper actually became a symposium for Kun.
  • After The Structure of the Scientific Revolution

Kuhn left Princeton University in 1977 and taught students at New York University for a year, before serving as a professor of science history and philosophy at the MIT in 1979. After the publication of <The Structure of the Scientific Revolution>, Kuhn was active as a professor of science history and philosophy. In particular, he focused on philosophical themes of science, such as further elaborating the concept of 'impossibility' as he went to the later stages.
