    Álvar Núñez Cabeza de Vaca was born in 1940 the exact date of his birth is unknown. He was born in Jerez de la Frontera. He was born into his beloved home and his parents were Francisco de Vara who was his father and his mom Teresa Cabeza de Vaca y de Zurita. His name meant cows head for some reason. He then became a treasure then he was a Spanish explorer.

    Cabeza De Vaca joined the military in 1512 he battled in a brief civil war of Spanish his loyalty to the crown eventually led him to be the treasurer of Panofilo de Narváez which would lead to him being in the Narváez Expedition which would go really south.

    Narváez Expedition
    The Narváez Expedition purpose was supposed to be an expedition to establish a colony in the new world. The other purpose of the expedition would be to find gold and wealth.The expedition was lead by Pánfilo de Narváez who later died ten year after I’m 1528. There were only four remaining drew me,bears that lived when they got to the gulf of Mexico’s in 1536. Where they met an Indian tribe as we know today as the karankawa then life just got harder from there.

    Landed in Galveston

    In 1529 he landed in the new world in currnwg day Galveston. He was almost enslaved by the Indian Americans but then he used his knowledge of medicine to perform the First surgery in Texas. Then after performing the surgery the American Indians worshiped him and he became the shaman which translates to medicine man. Then once he came back he old stories of seven cities of gold which then ecournged other explorers such as cornoda to go and search for the seven cities of gold.

    The exact date when he published his book is actually unknown but in the book stories told of cities of gold and different. People which we know as the karankawa which set Coronado on a quest to search for the cites of gold and wealth. The book was written off of his journals.

    His exact date is actually unknown but historians and recent new scientists have narrowed it down o 1560 which they think is most precise as of this time. His current resting place is Spain and the reason why he died was because of old age and natural causes.

    Cabeza De Vaca assumed earliest death is in 1560 we remember him for his book and he came for a gold and he on the Narváez Expedition he came to set up a colony in the new world. He found the karankawa then wandered for many years what he found Is still unknown. He spent a grand total of eight years on the gulf coast befor returning home.
