    The Industrial Revolution began in Britain in the late 1700s. Manufacturing was often done in people's homes, using hand tools or basic machines. Industrialisation marked a shift to powered, special-purpose machinery, factories and mass production.

    The Spinning Jenny
    The Spinning Jenny was used to spin cotton into threads for weaving into cloth. James Hargreaves was the patent and he majorly changed the process of spinning cotton as before the invention people used their hands. This made it so much easier as the machine used eight spindles to spin the thread, so by one turn of the wheel, eight threads were spun at once. This was significant not only for the advancement of factories but for people who worked there as it took a load off their shoulders.

    Eli Whitney created the Cotton Gin in 1794. This was invented because it made it much easier to separate cotton seeds from cotton fiber. The Cotton Gin was significant because it greatly reduced the time it took to clean cotton. It had a great effect on society because it helped the southern states make more money from cotton crops.

Sewing used to be done by hand, the sewing machine was introduced because it made sewing blankets and clothing much easier and faster this had a great effect on society as it helped in many homes. The Sewing Machine was significant because it helped revolutionize garment manufacture in the factory.

    Alexander Bell invented the telephone as he worked in a school for the deaf and came up with the idea of inventing the machine that could transmit sound by electricity while visiting his half deaf mother. However, as the telegram had more of an impact on the government the telephone had a bigger effect on society as a whole and the socializing between others.
