    The king's ability to act on his theoretically absolute power was hemmed in by the power and prerogatives of the nobility and the clergy, the remnants of feudalism. The peasants eyed the relatively greater prerogatives of the townspeople.

    It was formed as an administrative body to supervise and expedite the work of the executive bodies of the Convention and of the government ministers appointed by the Convention. As the Committee tried to meet the dangers of a coalition of European nations and counter-revolutionary forces within the country, it became more and more powerful.

    The Directors chose government ministers, ambassadors, army generals, tax collectors, and other officials. Nominally inheriting many of the centralized powers of the former Committee of Public Safety, they had no funds to finance their projects or courts to enforce their will.

    It was hated by the people because off many stories of prisoners getting tortured. The crowd of people had muskets but no ammo. All of the ammo was stored in the Bastille. This motivated the angry mob even more to get in the Bastille.

    The people felt the need to arm themselves and arms were stored up at the Bastille. The crowd started to chant, " We Want The Bastille." A group of kids climbed over the wall and jumped into the courtyard. They ran over to the drawbridge and took it out with a crash.

    Napoleon Bonaparte was a French military and political leader who rose to prominence during the latter stages of the French Revolution and its associated wars in Europe. Napoleon's physician, François Carlo Antommarchi he died from stomach cancer but was not sure.
