    Napoleon earned the title, Emperor of the French, after gaining more power. The pope was supposed to perform his ceromony, however Napoleon took the situation into his own hands. He placed the crown onto his own head, he wanted to show that he owed his throne to no one.

    The southwest coast of Spain was faught off in this battle right after Napoleon was preparing to invade England. British Admiral Horatio Nelson completely overcame the French fleet.

    Napoleon was known to give thrones of Europe to friends or family. His brother became the King of Spain when unseated the previous king. Napoleon was gaining control through forced diplomacy and this something common that he would do.
