As you all know Columbus was the first one to sail to the new world for spain. He first landed in the bahamas. And the thing he was there for is because he wanted find riches and a water route to Cathay because spain was at war. -

Pineada maps the coast
Pineada sails the exact same year as cortes but cortes maps the coast and discovers the mississppi river and later runs into cortes and it doesnt go so well he lost an eye. -

Cortes conquered the Aztects and opened up exploration for Spain.
Cortes explored what is now Mexico city,Mexico. Cortes conquered the Aztecs he wiped out the whole tribe with disease. He found tons of gold(99 tons) and thats what really opened up explorations. -

De vaca is in Florida and wants out
Devaca was with Narevaez, his leader, and his crew. He was trying to get out of Florida so they builded barges but they got caught in agale and shiprecked onto what is now Galveston Island. -

De vaca discovers TEXAS!
When De vaca shiprecks on Galveston Island he meets the carankawas and they(the carankawas) were very nice to De Vaca and his very few men. De Vaca stays alive by becoming a medicine men and peforms surgery in front of the indians which is new. -

They were tring to find the 7 cities of cibola. Esteban gets killed by indians and fray marcos finds a city of gold and goes bak to spain to report it -

Moscoso searches for gold
Moscoso goal was to find goal and his leader was hernano de soto. De soto dies and his men bury himbut realize that if the indians find out that hes not a god and will not be nice them. -

Coronado searches for the city of gold
Coonado searched for Quivera and the other one i dont know. Coronados guide was Turk he was an indian and told them about a golden city but Turk was later killed because everything that he said was a lie. Coronado discovered the grand and palo duro canyon and he really didbt have an importance in history.
