    Great Persecution of 303 CE
    In 303 CE Diocletian and so e other emperors demanded that Christians stop following their religion and follow certain traditional customs of Rome. The edict of Decius mandated supplications which was basically sacrificing one's self for the emperor. Christians especially were encouraged to sacrifice themselves for the emperor. The great persecution ended in 313 because Constantine came into power and legalized christianity.
