Constantine the great

Constantine the great was an emperor who one day envisioned a cross in the sky saying the words "in this sign conquer" using this he put the auspicious numbers PX on all the shields they won the battle of milvian bridge. he had also had a dream after he had a vision about Christianity. the dream told him if he put the PX on the shields they'd win.

Roman rule over Israel

The reason that Rome took over Israel was that it was a strategic location it had roads that led to Asia, Europe, and Africa. So the Romans could spread their culture and could get to the other continents easily. If the isralies/jews were caught by roman authorities praying to Jesus their religious rights could be taken away by Caesar who was ruling at the time

Jesus of Nazareth

Jesus was born a jewish but he later became a christian. but he was born into a normal family his father was a tradesmen so he would help him.

Paul of Tarsus

He was a convert, and some people say he was born the same time as Jesus.

Great Persecution of 303 CE

In 303 CE Diocletian and so e other emperors demanded that Christians stop following their religion and follow certain traditional customs of Rome. The edict of Decius mandated supplications which was basically sacrificing one's self for the emperor. Christians especially were encouraged to sacrifice themselves for the emperor. The great persecution ended in 313 because Constantine came into power and legalized christianity.

Battle of Milvian Bridge

-Took place between Constantine and Maxentius. Constantine had seen a vision in the clouds before the battle and had a dream that night that if he put the auspicious numbers PX on the shields they would win. The battle marked the beginning of Constantine's conversion to Christianity
-Constantine fought under the protection of god after he had the vision.'
-Constantine won the battle of milvian bridge.

Edict of Milan

The edict of Milan was signed by Constantine after he had the vision of christianity. The Edict of Milan allowed people to practice Christianity openly. It stopped the persecution of Christians and Christianity spread across the whole empire.

Emperor Theodosius

Theodosius Made Christianity the official religion of the Roman empire. He himself became a convert and stopped the persecution of Christians.
