Nicole's Projectile Project

  • Factoring and projectiles

Factoring helps us find the pathway of a projectile by the numbers you get from factoring an equation, are your two sets of numbers that hit the ground. They are the bottom level.
  • Quadratic Formula

(-b+/- sqrt(b2-4ac)) / 2a is the quadratic formula. The quadratic formula is used when factoring is just too difficult to use. The quadratic formula helps also when it is just to messy to mess with factoring. For example if I would use this equation x2 + 3x – 4 =0 The equation itself does factor. x2 + 3x – 4 = (x + 4)(x – 1) = 0
    already know that the solutions are x = –4 and x = 1. But by Using the quadratic formual it would be set up as a = 1, b = 3, and c = –4

When doing Projectile Formulas, the two formulas we used
y=-490t^2+(upward velocity)t +(starting height) to calculate our height. We used x=
