    Beginning on July 24th 1812, and ending on December 12th 1812, Napoleons campaign in Russia, was Napoleon's attempt to invade Russia and defeat the Russian army. This was significant because this loss was a significant blow to Napoleon's ambitions of European dominance. Out of the original force of 615,000, only 110,000 frostbitten and half starved survivors stumbled back into France.

    Lasting just three days, the battle of Leipzig was one of Napoleons defeats. The combination of the armies of Russia, Prussia, Austria, and Sweden defeated the French army. This was significant because it was the largest battle in Europe prior to World War I.

    When Napoleon was exiled from France, he was sent to the island Elba. After he was exiled, power was returned to the Bourbons. Napoleon escaped from Elba February 1815 and took control of France again.

    After his defeat at Waterloo, Napoleon was exiled a second time to St. Helena by the British. He would die there 6 years later.

    The Battle of Waterloo was fought near Waterloo in present-day Belgium, then part of the United Kingdom of the Netherlands. This battle is significant because since Napoleon was defeated, he was exiled for the final time to St. Helena.

    On May 5th, 1821, Napoleon died on the island of St. Helena. Although his cause of death is debated, Napoleon's physician François Carlo Antommarchi, who led the autopsy, found that Napoleon's cause of death may have been stomach cancer.
