     Napoleon Overthrows the Directory
    On November 9, 1779 Napoleon overthrew the failing French Directory. He arrived unannounced from Egypt. With help from Sieyes, Roger-Ducos, and his own brother, Lucien, he was able to end the Directory and become first consul of France
  • Napoleon is Named Consul for Life

    On August 2, 1802, Napoleon named himself Consul for life. He devised a new constitution stating that his son will rule after him, even though he had yet to father any sons of his own. His power did not go unchecked, though.
  • Napoleon Becomes Emperor

     Napoleon Becomes Emperor
    The title Emperor was given to him on May 4, 1804 by the French Senate. He was crowned emperor at the cathedral of Norte Dame de Paris on December 2 the same year.
  • Napoleon is Defeated in the Battle of Leipzig

    In early 1803, Napoleon had gathered around 300,000 soldiers. By October 1803, he had lost almost all of Europe. The opposing countries crushed Napoleon's army and in some parts of Europe it is known as " The Battle of Nations". In some propaganda they said they were not fighting against the French, they were fightng against Napoleon. By April 6, 1814 Napoleon stepped down from the throne and signed Treaty of Fontainebleau, which exiled him to Elba.

    Napoleon made an offer to step down in favor of his son. His offer was rejected. He then was exiled by the Allied governments to the Isle of Elba.

    On the 26 of February, Napoleon managed to sneaked past a gaurd and with great luck, was able to escape the Isle of Elba. He even managed to slip past an interception by a British ship and returned to France safely.

    During his wedding reception, Dantes was arrested and interrogated by Villefort. He was wrongly found guilty and was sent to prison.
  • Battle of Ligny

    When Napoleon returned to France, the Austrians, Prussians, British and Russians were planning war against him. Napoleon soon takes out each individual country one by one before they have a chance to unite and attack together against him. On June 16, 1815 at the Battle of Ligny he defeated the Prussians under the command of Gebhard Leberecht von Blucher. However he was unable to completely destroy the Prussian army.

    Battle of Waterloo and End
    The Battle of Waterloo is known as the final defeat of Napoleon. Napoleon's forces were defeated by British and Prussian forces. This signaled the end of his reign and France's rule over Europe. After Waterloo he resigned and was exiled. He passed away during his exile to Saint Helena.

    Dantes heard a prisoner trying to escape, so he decides to make a tunnel to at least have someone to talk to. Dantes was desperate. He soon met the man known as Abbe Faria. Faria soon becomes a teacher to Dantes and also a mentor

    Dantes thought that the prison would bury the body but instead Dantes was thrown into the sea. Luckily in his past life he was a sailor so he was able to escape the bag and swim to shore.
  • Dantes Escapes Chateau d'If

    After Abbe Faria passed, Dantes had a chance to escape due to the prison needing to get rid of the dead body. So Dantes came up with a plan to hide in the bag that contained the body and put the corpse in his bed to make it look as if he were sleeping. Soon the gaurds took the bag that they thought contained the dead body, but it actually had Dantes carrying a knife in order to escape the bag.

    Dantes Finds the Treasure on Monte Cristo
    Abbe Faria gave Dantes a location to go to when he escapes from prison. The land is a small island that has treasure in a cave. Once Dantes found the treasure he almost went mad due to seeing all the money.
  • Bendetto's Court Hearing

    Bendetto, under the alias "Prince Calvacanti", is put on trial for murdering Caderousse. He then revealed that his father was Villefort. Villefort's mind was racing and he also went pale. He was slowly losing his sanity.

    Villefort FInds His Wife and Child dead and Goes Completely Mad
    Villefort was coming home after the trial and thinking of escaping with his wife and son, Edouard, but once he arrives he is too late. They are both dead. The count come sout and reveals his true identity. After all that just happened Villefort snapped. He was officially mad and went searching in the garden for the baby he attempted to bury, even though they were in a different house.
  • End

    The count and Haydee sail off on a boat to start a new life in places unknown. Maximilien and Valentine are left on the island of Monte Cristo with most of the count's fortune and a ship to sail to a new life as well.
