    In 1795, French Royalist marched towards the National Convention, and attacked it. Napoleon was tasked to stop them. Napoleon and his men fired upon the Royalist, making them retreat. After such a victory, Napoleon was seen as a savior of the French Republic.

    After his defeat in Egypt. Napoleon plans his invasion of Syria. He set his mind on Acre, on March 20th, the set siege on the city. The siege lasted two months, Napoleon faced defeat. He and his men retreat on May 21st, 1799.

He also looked to improve the relationship between the Church and his government. And most importantly, he instituted was his Napoleonic Code. It changed everday life in France and placed in new legal systems. It even still forms modern French civil law to this day.

    The battle was a naval battle, it featured 33 French and Spanish ships against the British fleet. The battle fought in the straits of Gibraltar. The battle, resulted in a great victory for the British. The British were able to capture 19 French and Spanish ships through the great mind of Lord Nelson, who commanded the British fleet, though dying in the battle, he is credited for foiling Napoleon's plans to build a strong navy to invade to Britain.

    In 1805, Russian and Austrian forces challenged Napoleon's army. This battle came out as a French victory, the Russians and Austrians lost 15,000 men, killed or wounded while the French lost only 9,000 men, killed or wounded. The French Army was also able to capture 11,000 hostile troops. This caused the Holy Roman Empire to be dissolved, and the creation of the Confederation of Rhine. This battle is considered to be one ofNapoleon's greatest victory.

    In 1806, Napoleon wanted to destroy Britain's economy, he had decided to enact a large-scale blockade, making sure Britain doesn't trade with any European countries. This ultimately failed though, as trade was constantly being smuggled in between Britain and various other nations.

    After years of the failing Continental System, Russia opted out of it in 1810, In retaliation, Napoleon led a massive army into Russia, having some early success, the Russian's plan was to let Napoleon's forces march deeper into Russia, knowing the Russian winter was approaching. Napoleon and his troops were able to reach Moscow, but it was abandoned. Waiting in Moscow, the winter hit. Napoleon's troops were unprepared for such a winter.     Napoleon's forces were met with numerous of hostile nation's forces, that included Austrian, Russian, Prussian and Swedish troops. The French suffered a major defeat, suffering 73,000 casualties, while the hostile forces suffered around 53,000 casualties. It was the first time that Emperor Napoleon was clearly defeated in battle.

    Napoleon Returns to his Former Glory
    Only less than a year of being exiled, Napoleon escaped Elba with a group of around a thousand supporters and sailed to France. On March 20th, he returned to Paris and was greeted by cheering crowds. Louis XVIII, the new king fled France.

    When Napoleon had returned to France, European nations prepared for war. Napoleon began to build up a giant army and began to plan. In June he invaded Belgium, where he met British and Prussian troops, he defeated the British and Prussian troops. Just two days later, the Battle of Waterloo took place.Napoleon launched a strong offence at British troops, but when Prussian troops had arrived it had changed everything. Napoleon retreated, suffering more than 33,000 casualties.

    On June 22, 1815, Napoleon is forced to abdicate. In October, he is exiled to the Island of St.Helena, in the South Atlantic.

    Napoleon at the age of 51, dies in St.Helena. No one truly knows what he died from, he most likely died of stomach cancer. He was buried at St.Helena, but in 1840, his remians where sent back to France, and entombed at Les Invalides in Paris.
