    Konrad Zuse was born.
  • Education

    In 1927 Konrad Zuse attended the Technische Hochschule of Berlin- Charlottenburg where he took civil engineering courses.
  • Mechanical Device Development

    In 1934 Zuse gained interest in machinery and started developing a mechanical device used to make calculations.
  • Graduation

    Zuse graduated from the Technische Hochschule of Berlin- Charlottenburg in 1935
  • The Z1

    The Z1
    In 1938 he finally finished the development of his calculation device. This machine was called the Z1
  • Military Service

    In 1939 Zuse was chosen to serve in the military and during his time in the military he developed his Z2 computer.
  • The Z3

    In 1941 Zuse completed the development of the Z3 computer in which he developed to actually be used in comparison to his other computers in which he used to test his ideas.
  • The Z4

    Zuse began to build his Z4 computer in 1942.
  • The Destroying of the Z1

    On this day the blueprints of the Z1 and the machine itself was destroyed by a British Air Raid in WWII. This raid also destroyed his parents property.
  • The Use of the Z4

    In 1950 Zuse's Z4 was taken to Switzerland where it was use at the ETH in Zurich.

    In 1964 Zuse won the Werner Von Siemens Ring along with Fritz Leonhardt and Walter Schottky.

  • The Takeover of Zuse's Company

    In 1969 Zuse's computer company was taken over by by Siemens.

    On December 18, 1995 Konrad Zuse died of heart failure in Hünfeld, Germany
