  • The 1st Intifada

    The 1st Intifada
    It was the FIRST war between Israelis and Palestinians over the Gaza Strip, and the West Bank. This war took place from 1987-1991. This event was important because in the end, the leader of the PLO, declared the rights for Israel to exist, and started a peace process.
  • Gulf War

    Gulf War
    This war was from 1990-91. The war was between Iraq, and 34 nations led by the United States. This war was about oil. The United nations tried to protect Kuwait because Iraq accused Kuwait of taking the oil. This was important because the United Nations were able to help by getting Iraq out of Kuwait.
  • Oslo Accords

    Oslo Accords
    This event was an agreement to declare peace between the Israelis and the Palestinians. This event happened in 1993. This was important because the Israeli Government recognized the PLO as justified leaders of the Palestinians, and in return the PLO recognized Israel to be its own state. This was put in the place to stop the terrorism between the two.
  • Camp David Summits

    Camp David Summits
    This event took place in July of 2000 between the United States, Israel, and Palestine. US President Clinton called this meeting to make peace between the Israelis, and Palestinians. This was important because even though the Palestinians and Israelis couldn't come to an agreement, they did agree that the United States should still be involved in continuing to help them find peace.
  • 2nd Intifada

    2nd Intifada
    This event started on September 8, 2000 because Israeli leader, Ariel Sharon, made a visit to Temple Mount, which was a very holy place for Palestinians. His visit started fighting and riots between the Israelis and Palestinians again. This event is important because it was the worst fight yet with a lot of terrorist suicide attacks.
  • 2nd Lebanon War

    2nd Lebanon War
    This war was between Israelis, and Hezbollah forces in Lebanon, in the summer of 2006. This started because the Hezbollah's went across borders to kill and kidnap Israeli soldiers. This was important because it lead to the Security Council Resolution 1701, which ended the fighting on August 14th.
  • Battle of Gaza

    Battle of Gaza
    This battle was between Fatah and Hamas. The fight was over power and it took place on the Gaza Strip, from June 10th-15th, 2007. This was important because it caused a division of government.
  • Gaza War

    Gaza War
    This was a 3-week war between Israel and Palestinians. This war was taken place on December 27, 2008 and ended on January 18, 2009. This war was caused because Israel wanted to stop the Palestinians from causing awful tragedies in Israel territory and the Gaza Strip. This was important because it killed over 1,300 Palestinians, thousands of homes were ruined, and the land was badly damaged.
  • President Obama, Nagotiations

    President Obama, Nagotiations
    In May of 2011, the United States President, Obama, started negotiations for peace between Israelis and the Palestinians. This was important because he was trying to create 2 states of Israel and Palestine so that both are secure areas without fighting.
  • Hamas and Fatah Agreement

    Hamas and Fatah Agreement
    In April of 2014, Hamas and Fatah finally agreed to form one government together. This was important because it would bring the two together, and they would no longer be divided by two governments, and it would bring peace between them.
