Laugh-O-Grams
20-year old Walt Disney started here. Laugh-O-Grams was his first animation film studio. It was founded in 1921 in Kansas City Missouri. This was the studio that gave Walt the inspiration to create Mickey Mouse. The feature film "Walt Before Mickey" was created here. Unfortunatley, the company became bankrupt after a short 3 years, but the good news is that this was the beginning of Walt Disney's sucsess. -
Steamboat Willie
After his failure at Laugh O Grams, Walt Disney did not give up on his love for animating films. In 1928 he released a short animatred film called "Steamboat Willie." This film featured Mickey Mouse and used sound for the very first time in history. It was an instant hit. Mickey Mouse was loved by everyone, Walt was an animation genius. -
Warner Bros. Studio is Born
In 1930, the largest entertainment, music and film studio was born. It was founded by the Warner Brothers, note the name "Warner Bros," Albert, Harry, Sam and Jack Warner. This is the year that Looney Toons excelled. The studios headquarters are in Burbank, California USA. -
Walt Disney First Academy Award

In 1937, Walt Disney produced the firt ever full length animated film, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. This movie was a sudden hit, in fact "Whistle While You Work," a song from Snow White was one of the most popular song at the time. The movie was first released in the USA on December 21st. -

At the University of Utah, a man named Ed Catmull developed a method of creating computer generated movies. It used scripting language. This was the beginning of an animation uprise. Animation became alot easier and animators now had access to more techonology to improve their films. -
3D and Beyond
Apple computer company produced a method for creating 3-D films, and in 1995 Toy Story was released as the first full-length 3-D film. The animation industry would never be the same. From here on more and more 3D films were created, and people were amazed.
