    Boston Massacre
    This is one of the biggest events in the American Revolution. The Massacre was caused by the British troops. The colonist were insulting them and throwing snowballs and they troops could not handle it. The troops opened fire and killed the colonist.
  • Boston Tea Party

    Boston Tea Party
    The Boston Tea Party was a major event for the American revolution. The colonist were enraged by the unfair taxation that the British Government put on them. The colonist dreesed up as Mowhawk Indians. The colonist boraded a British ship and dumped all the taxed to tea in the Boston harbor. The colonist dumped 92,000 pounds of tea which was worth over a billion dollars.
  • Lexington and Concord

    Lexington and Concord
    The Battles of Lexington and Concord were the first military engagements of the American Revolutionary War. Their destinations were Lexinton, where they would capture Colonial leaders Sam Adams and John Hancock, then Concord, where they would seize gunpowder. But the Minutemen were ready at a moments notice. Two lanterns hanging from Boston's North Church informed the countryside that the British were going to attack by sea.
  • Battle of Bunker Hill

    Battle of Bunker Hill
    American troops acting under orders from Artemas Ward moved out of their camp, carrying picks, shovels, and guns. From this hill, the rebels could bombard the town and British ships in Boston Harbor. But Ward's men misunderstood his orders. They went to Breeds Hill by mistake.

    The Battle of Long Island is also known as The Battle of Brooklyn. This was a defeat for the US. Washington had built batteries on Manhattan and Long Island to prevent the British fleet penetrating past New York, this was a key victory for the British, but they could not use the advantage to win the war.
  • Saratoga

    Saratoga
    Saratoga was huge for the Americans and helped their vistory. Lacking supplies, 5,700 British, German and loyalist forces under Major General John Burgoyne surrender to Major General Horatio Gates in a turning point in the Revolutionary War. This was key for the colonist. Burgoyne's strategy to divide New England from the southern colonies had started well, but slowed due to logistical problems. Which there fore caused the surrender of the troops.
  • Storming of the Bastille

    Storming of the Bastille
    The storming of the Bastille is a key event during the French Revolution. The Bastille was an French armory/prison in Paris. In the morning, a group formed of craftsmen and salesmen decided to fight back and ran to the Invalides to steal some weapons. The mob stole 28,000 riffles there, but there no powder was to be found. The crowd knew that a pile of powder was stocked in the Bastille, a prison that was a symbol of the King's absolute power
