  • Cotton Gin

    A machine that separates cotton seeds from cotton fiber. It was invented by Eli Whitney in 1793. This was an important invention because it majorly reduced the amount of time it took to separate cotton seeds from cotton.
  • Land Lotteries

    Citizens could register for a chance to win lots of land that had been occupied by the Creek Indians and the Cherokee Nation. (Just hope you choose good.)
  • Sequoyah

    I created a written language for the Native. Using this language helped Native communicate. I was born in a village in Tennessee and settled in Arkansas. I also created the Cherokee alphabet.
  • Dahlonega Gold Rush

    People started moving to Dahlonega to get the gold that was being found.
  • Worcester V. Georgia

    A court case determining if the natives were there own nation. Also if they had to follow the U.S. laws but not the state laws.
  • Trail Of Tears

    The Cherokee nation was forced to give up their land and to migrate to an area in present day Oklahoma. The Cherokee people called this journey the "Trail of Tears," because of its disappointment and devastating effects.
