    During the Six-Day War, Israel launched air stikes against Egypt, Syria, and Jordan. Israel quickly defeated the Arab forces. As a result of the war, Israel took control of the Golan Heights, Sinai Peninsula, Gaza Strip, West Bank, and East Jerusalem.

    Yom Kippur War
    The Yom Kippur War was begun by Egypt and Syria because they were determined to win back territory they had lost in the Six-Day War. The Arabs attacked Israel on the Jewish holiday of Yom Kippur. The war ended on October 25, 1973.
  • Camp David Accords

    Camp David Accords
    The goal of the Camp David Accords was to create peace between Egypt and Israel. U.S. president Jimmy Carter wanted to help the two countries achieve peace, so he invited both countries' leaders to Camp David. At Camp David, the two leaders reached a peace agreement known as the Camp David Accords, which ended 30 years of hostility between Egypt and Israel.
  • Intifada

    The Intifada was caused by Palestinian resentment of Israeli occupation in 1987. During the Intifada, Palestinian youths battled Israeli troops in the streets.

    In the second infitada, Palestinian youths were goined by Palestinian security forces with guns. Fighting worsened and citizens on both sides were targeted by the countries' armies.
