    Constantine The Greart
    Constantine was born in February 27, after 280 CE and died May 22, 337. He ruled from 306 to 312 AD. He was the first Roman emperor to profess Christianity. Signed the Edict of Milan, which means that persecution for religion is prohibited. He fought in the Battle of the Milvian Bridge. Constantine renamed Byzantium to Constantinople. He called the first Council of Nicaea, and produced the Christian belief (Nicene Creed).

    Battle of the Milvian Bridge
    It ended with Constantine being a sole emperor and Christianity established in his empire. In 306, Maxentius claimed the title of the emperor in Rome. In 312, Constantine I was prepared to battle with his rivals forces, beside the Tiber River at the Milvian Bridge. It is said, that the night before the battle, Constantine had a dream of a cross and a message saying "In this sign, prevail". The next day, all of the soldiers had a cross on their shields and called themselves "Christian Soldiers"

    Theodosius I was born in January 11, 347 and died in January 17, 395. He ruled between 379 and 392. He was a military leader, a co-emperor, and a sole emperor. He was known as Theodosius the Great. He ruled both the Eastern and the Western part of the Roman Empire. He is considered a saint in the Eastern Orthodox Church. He also fought against the Goths and the Barbarians, but he didn't destroy them.

    He was born in a poor family in 483. He reigned from 527 - 565. His wife Theodora influenced him very much. He created the Justinian code which has influenced many law systems of todays governments. Conquered many territories previously part of the Roman Empire. He died 565

    A series of riots complaining about tax increase. Justinian tricked the rioters into entering the hippodrome which was a type of stadium and he massacred all of them.

    He was born in 575. He reigned during 610 and 641. He changed the official language of the empire from Latin to Greek. He conquered territories in the west and he had many battles against the Muslims.

    She was born 752. Her reign was during 797 and 802. She died in 803. She was the first woman to govern in the Byzantine Empire. She was co empress with her son who was too young too govern. She later became alone empress.

    Basil II was born in 958 and came to power in 960.He was too young so he stayed in the background. Became main emperor in 976. Reigned until 1025. Stopped the Anatolian Aristocrats and died in 1025.

    Basil II had a special rivalry against the bulgars and fought them for over 25 years. He finally deleted them in 1014 when he captured the entire army and blinded all of them except one of every one hundred to guide them home

    Was born 978. She was co empress with her sister Theodora. She was part of the Macedonian Dynasty. Had three husbands to maintain power because since she was a woman she couldn’t rule alone. She ruled from 1028 - 1050. Died in 1050

    Theodora

    She was born 981 and died in 1056. She reigned during the same time. Co empress with her sister Zoe. She was exiled by her sister. Reigned during the Macedonian Dynasty
