    Since Greece was surrounded by water, they realised their need to create a strong navy so they could defend themselves at sea. This event was significant because it later enabled them to defeat the Persians.

    This was significant in making Greece a very powerful empire. The Spartan city in Greece developed a very strong military defence force which is a significant part of today's national security to this day. They declared that everyone had to be put though military school, and everything in Sparta was decided by the military because of their powerful enforcement.

    This Ancient Greek replaced spoken law and blood feud with a written law and became the first recorded legislator of Athens in Ancient Greece. The written code was enforced by a court with harshness. By using a new boy of law the king maintain power and safety in his city and justice.This was the beginning of a legal system.

    Right from the start Greek coins used a combination of figures symbols and inscriptions to show there hero's and significant things.This tradition of decorating coins, started by the Ancient Greeks, has been influenced the rest of the world. Today most coins and bills use this common pattern of using an important symbol or person on money.

    The Greeks were well informed about the Persian war. The Greeks knew that they were outnumbered, so they got more military equipment and other supplies to help them win. There empire was quickly growing.

    The Greek city state had the Spartans defending them in the second Persian war, because they knew that they were going to be defeated. They had to warn all of Athens to evacuate the area, so they wouldn’t get killed. When the battle began the Persians killed 300 Spartans. This proves that many of the Greeks city states became allies.

    After the Persian war when all of Greece teamed up they, called themselves the Dalian League. This title gave Athens power over the Greek city states, and took them to the Golden age.

    The Peloponnese war was a battle between Athens and Sparta. The war started after Athenians took command of the Dalian League, and took advantage of the power. The Spartans got angry and fought back. The ongoing war lasted 25 years and in the end Sparta became the new head of Dalian League.

     Alexander defeats Persia and Egypt
    Alexander the Great son of king Phillip II. Alexander was a strong military leader. He used his power to overtake Persia and Egypt for his empire. He was very wealthy in expanding the Macedonian empire.

    The first Roman victory over Greece
    When the Romans defeated the Macedonians in the battle of Pynda, and captured Corinth in 86 BC, they destroyed Ancient Greek cities and walls leaving only the most valuable sculptures. Rome grew strong and healthy from all the ideas and inspiration of the Ancient Greeks.
