    The flu infected 300 to 500 million people worldwide, killing about 50 to 100 million people, most of which were young healthy adults. Woodrow Wilson got the flu while negotiating the Treaty of Versailles! This flu was nicknamed the Spanish Flu because news of the flu was suppressed in countries at war, so it was believed that the flu began in Spain.
