    A letter arrives to the estate of lord Monteagle warning the man that parliament would receive a terrible blow. This letter would be passed on to the king who determined blow to mean explosion. This letter notified the guard to check the cellars before parliament met.

    A week after a supposed letter said that the House of Lords may become unsafe guards pat the place down. During said search they find Guy Fawkes guarding about 36 barrels of gunpowder. He was quickly apprehended and subsequently tortured.

    After the discovery of their plot all remaining conspirators fled into the country side. Three days after the plot was discovered a high sheriff found the runaways and led an assault on their position. Robert Catesby, the Wright brothers, and Thomas Percy were killed in the shoot out while the rest would be captured.

    After two days of torture Guy Fawkes signed a confession of guilt. He was tried on the 27th of January and was slated to executed by hanging on the 31st. While climbing up to the platform he either lost his footing or jumped. During his decent he struck the ground hard enough to break his neck and kill him before he could be hanged.

    This book was written by Jean Jacques Rousseau. This read explained the general contract between people and their government. This work along with others would help instigate both the American and the French rebellions

    This work was written by Adam Smith. It advocates for the implementation of a laissez faire market system. This system was decently common in the past but these days I am unsure if our system can be described as laissez faire.

    On September 17, 1787 the constitution is finished and signed. This document’s inventory was heavily affected by a wide number of enlightenment thinkers. This document and the nation it was attached to would act as an experiment for the world to see.

    Occurred after the National Assembly is called. The third estate forms the people’s assembly as an independent government, which the king locks out of the building. To get around this they meet in a tennis court and make an oath.

    The revolution begins but the people don’t have ammunition or gunpowder. The bastille is a military prison that is lightly guarded and has a stockpile of gunpowder and ammunition. The crowd over whelms the guards and take the Bastille.

    What was originally food riot had morphed into a mob of women who would march on Versailles. The aim of the march was to convince the king to move back to Paris so that he may see the plight of his subjects. This march turns into an invasion of Versailles and the forceful resettlement of the royal family.

    Not long after a failed escape attempt, Louis is executed. He was convicted as a threat to the revolution and a traitor to the people. After his beheading The surrounding crowd moves forward to collect souvenirs from the dead king.

    Maximilian was the head of the public safety commission and worked tirelessly to stamp out any trouble makers. He would become overzealous in his mission and kill many thousands. He would be tried and convicted as a traitor.

    This was a major three day battle nears the city of Leipzig. Napoleon’s forces try to hold the line but are dislodged and forced to retreat. Soon after the battle Napoleon is forced to abdicate.

    This was the final battle of the first French Republic. This was coalition victory needed to subdue Napoleon and end the Napoleonic war. After the Battle Napoleon is exiled to the island of Saint Helena.
  • Death of Napoleon.

    Death of Napoleon.
    Six years after his second exile Napoleon died from stomach cancer. He was laid to rest on Saint Helena island in a small cemetery. In 1840 he was exhumed, repatriated, and buried in France.
