Uncertainty relation

Werner Heisenberg 1901-1976

  • Theory of Quantum Mechanics

Werner Heisenberg was one of the first scientists to discover quantum mechanics which discovered a universe within our own universe. This helped scientific philosophy due to the fact that it opened up deeper scientific theories and thoughts within the scientific community. It also help question what we had previously believed in before 1925. “The Nobel Prize in Physics 1932.” NobelPrize.org, www.nobelprize.org/prizes/physics/1932/heisenberg/biographical/.
  • Principle of Uncertainty

Werner Heisenberg stated is Principle of Uncertainty which helped lay ground works for many other scientists' quantum studies.  This helped the philosophy of science due to the fact that it helped many other scientists with their work including the great scientist Niels Bohr. Just like his quantum  mechanics theory this helped open up even deeper thoughts within the quantum realm.  “The Nobel Prize in Physics 1932.” NobelPrize.org, www.nobelprize.org/prizes/physics/1932/heisenberg/biographical/
  • Nuclear Physics

Heisenberg worked on controversial nuclear physics for his country (Germany). Just as history tells, this is when nuclear bombs came into play. This furthered advanced the discussions of the philosophy pf science because it introduced both ethical and unethical lines of which any scientist, no matter how prestigious, should focus their are of study.  “WERNER HEISENBERG (1901 - 1976).” Home - Heisenberg Web Exhibit, history.aip.org/web-exhibits/heisenberg/.
  • President of Alexander Von Humboldt Foundation

Werner Heisenberg became president of the Alexander Von Humboldt Foundation. This was one of his greater achievements because it brought a great number of scientists from other countries to German together. They further combined studies and collaborated on great ideas both within the quantum realm and outside the quantum realm as well.  “The Nobel Prize in Physics 1932.” NobelPrize.org, www.nobelprize.org/prizes/physics/1932/heisenberg/biographical/
