This was schools for young children. This was both boys and girls. They had horn books which had the alphebet, number and the Lord's Prayer. The amount of information on the slab depended on the size of the board and how big the font is. -

Thomas Jefferson, was one of the founding fathers. He beleived that there should be a public educaiton system. He gave a big push for public education system while he was president. -

Northwest Ordinance 1785
This is were every settlement needs a school. This gave a big push for women to be teacher. There were some promiant people that pushed having women teachers. Educated women would travel out west and stay and teach the settlement childrean. -

This was developed in England but come over to America. This was based on the system that there are student that help each other out. This was an effective way to have the students to understand as they learn and as they help each other. -
Sarah Robert, Importan Robert vs Boston
This is were a father wanted his daughter that was a minority go to the school that was closure to their home. This school was also had better suply's and a better building. This was orginally Robert suing Boston but it kept going to another court until it got to the Supreme Coury. This had that every school in America had to desegrogate. -

This is were there was a committe of ten that wrote curriculm for high school. This was a great way for the counrty to all get on similer pages. This would set the setting for college of what should be accpected in the average person understanding. -

This movment had all of the people going from the east to the west, This help peopel get out of the slums and progress there our life, There also was is were the American Dream was form and people dreamed their dreams. -

There were so many immagrant to New York that the schools were pack full of kids. There were so many different languages that were spoken at the schools. This could be were the factory model of the education system could have been thought. -
