This opens up Japan. He presented a letter from millard filmore saying that they must open up trade with the US. The Japaniese opened two ports for the US to trade. Other western powers soon followed.

They suceeded with the battle of alamo. Santa Anna and his troops held Texians under seige for 13 days. Mexicains win battle. Santa Anna was then humilliated in a bunch of other battles that lowered the power of mexico.

    Us' president Teddy Roosevelt wanted to control the Panama Canal. He knew that it would ussure in an abundance of trade. He provided aid and millitary assistance to the natives of Panama who were revolutionizing. After Panama became a free nation it helped the US construct the Panama Canal. The US leased it for 99 years.
