    Cognitive & Psychosocial Development- Dance

I was a part of a dance studio. I remember being sassy and loving every minute of dancing on stage. Our recitals were mostly held in the Salem High School Auditorium. Dance boosted my self-esteem and allowed me to make more friends outside of school (Psychosocial). Learning the skill is cognitive development.
  • Period: to

    Biosocial Development

I had broken my foot at 4 years old. My mom had set me down the wrong way and I kept complaining that my foot hurt. I bribed my mom into getting me a Barbie van after going to the doctors since my foot was broken. I remember when I was allowed to take the boot off and ended up throwing it out.
  • Psychosocial Development-moving

    Psychosocial Development-moving
My family and I started moving to our new home for 3 years- Oakville, ON Canada. I remember feeling like I was not going to make new friends. The second day of moving in there, I met my best friend, whom I still talk to today. I remember playing with all of the moving boxes with her and creating a fort in the front lawn.
  • Period: to

    Biosocial Development

I taught myself how to rollerblade around the age of eight years old, I taught myself by rollerblading in the house around the pool table that we had in the basement.
  • Period: to

    Cognitive Development

I began learning French in the third grade. I continued to learn it until we moved back to MI. However, I picked it back up in the eighth grade and continued until my freshman year of college.
  • Psychosocial Development-Moving back to MI

    Psychosocial Development-Moving back to MI
My dad's foreign assignment was over and we were heading back to MI. I remember feeling anxious and nervous because the friends that I did have most likely forgot who I was. I was also accustomed to the environments and friends that I had in Canada. When school started back up in MI, I found that I was ahead of my peers because the school systems in Canada were farther ahead. The only subject that I truly stuggled with was history. I had learned more Canadian history than U,S,
  • Psychosocial Development- Trip to Disney

    Psychosocial Development- Trip to Disney
We took a family trip in our RV to Florida. We went to some of the Disney Parks and celebrated the Fourth of July there. I remember loving the fireworks and waiting in line forever to ride Splash Mountain. It is one of the best memories that I have bonding with my family and my grandma, who came with us.
  • Adolescent Biosocial

    Adolescent Biosocial
I started to notice that I was losing weight/ babyfat and grew taller. Since I grew and lost some weight, I had a hard time fitting into my clothes.
  • Adolescent Cognitive

I remember going to a punk rock concert and feeling particularly judged by everyone around (adolescent egocentrism). At that point, I had an "emo" phase that lasted uil my sophomore year of high school. I felt a sense of belonging until there was pressure about college, where I decided I needed to change and grow up.
  • Adolescent Biosocial

Within the transition of going to high school, I was self-conscious of my body. I started envying other girls and actresses that I saw on TV. I remember taking pictures of Lauren Conrad from Laguna Beach and wanting my haircut to look like hers.
  • Emerging Adulthood Psychosocial

I started dating my boyfriend, Zack. I'm still with him today and headed toward a five year anniversary. It's a little cheesy, but he is my best friend and in almost every memory I have in later adolescence and emerging adulthood. I've learned a great deal about military life from him since he is in the USAF.
  • Adolescent Psychosocial

I chose a moratorium of postponing other life achievements and started deciding where I wanted to apply for college. Originally, I wanted to major in Journalism. A year later, I decided Journalism wasn't for me and was introduced to Speech-Lanugage Pathology.
  • Adolescent Cognitive/Psychosocial Graduation of High School

Adolescent Cognitive/Psychosocial Graduation of High School
    I graduated Plymouth High School.
  • Emerging Adulthood Psychosocial

I started using Twitter more often than Facebook. I wanted to stay in touch with my friends and they tended to use Twitter rather than Facebook. The textbook says that 3/4 of all 18-29 year olds in the U,S, use social networking to keep in contact.
  • College Starts

Started my freshman year of college at Eastern Michigan University
  • Emerging Adulthood Cognitive

It was toward the end of my first semester of college that I truly acknowledged and understood other peoples views on the same phenomena. College has expanded the way I view current issues in the world and challenges my beliefs.
  • Emerging Adulthood Cognitive

I moved to Columbus, OH to attend Ohio State University. I had more responsibility as I would be living on my own, away from immediate family. I also had moments that I stood my ground about not going out and partying, challenging my social skills and beliefs.
  • Emerging Adulthood Biosocial

At only 20 years old, I was officially diagnosed with eczama and psoriasis. I find the winters especially rough where my skin breaks out and itches. I learned the flares ups were due to heightened stress and anxiety. Within this appointment, I also discussed my anxiety with flying and sometimes traveling in a car. The textbook said 1/4 of all U.S. residents below age 25 have anxiety disorders However, I don't think mine is as severe as others.
  • Adulthood Cognitive

I will graduate from the Ohio State University and will go to get my Master's Degree at the University of North Caroina at Chapel Hill. I will also erform or assist in research toward Autism. Then expect to graduate from UNC-CH by Spring 2017

  • Period: to

    Adulthood Biosocial

I expect that sometime in these years I will be experiencing menopause.
  • Period: to

    Adulthood Psychosocial

I would think by this time, I'd be an empty nester. My kids would be in college and it would return to my husband and I. I don't this I'd go through a midlife crisis per se, but a transition with vacations with my hubby.
