Nicolaus Copernicus was a Polish Astronomer who believed that all planets in our solar system revolve around the sun. Copernicus also believed that the earth also rotated itself once daily, and that the rotation around the sun took much longer and accounted for the seasons.

Second, the earth is not the center of the universe, rather the sun is and the planets revolve around it. Third, the stars do not move, but rather they appear to due to the rotation of the earth. Fourth, the earth moves around the sun in a circular shape; and lastly earth’s movement is what causes the planets to appear to be moving in the opposite direction.
