Enlightenment philosophy influences the meanings and methods of education
Americans in the 1600s are beginning to grasp the American dream through education. This is the beginning where they find the true meaning of education and why it is necessary for Americans. Little do they know that many values of what they think is Americanism will change over time. (Oakes, 2018, pg. 42).

If you want to be a real/true American you must learn how to read and write. This is what brought Noah Webster to create Blue-Blacked Spellers. This is the beginning of the beliefs in Americanism in the education system. (Oakes, 2018, pg. 42)

First Pledge of Allegiance, followed by “One Country! One Flag! One Language!”
The pledge of allegiance is now becoming a part of the classroom. Not only is it American for people to be educated, but now America is focusing on expanding patriotism through doing a public patriotic act in the classroom (Oakes, 2018, pg. 42).

Congress passes the first federal language law, requiring that those seeking to become naturalized citizens speak English.
At this point in time in 1906 America has made English the primary language and seems to only want its people speaking this language at the moment. Now to become a naturalized citizen you must become educated and Americanized to speak the English language. (Oakes, 2018, pg. 43).

    China's Education Reform
Since China has the largest human migration in world history their main concern is creating equity throughout rural and urban schools. One of their plans is to rotate teaching assignments on a five-year basis so minority students in the most remote areas have the same educational opportunities as their counterpart in the most prosperous cities. This encourages diversity in the classroom to succeed.

    Obama Issues DACA Executive Order
President Obama issues the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) executive order that allows undocumented immigrants who entered the United States as minors to receive a renewable period of deferred action from deportation, plus eligibility for a work permit. Approximately 65,000 undocumented students graduate from US high schools on a yearly basis. This is a new form of Americanization as you now have diversity throughout the classroom. (Oakes, 2018, pg. 46).

This is by doing things such as encouraging the study of Latin and Greek foreign languages and not just French.
