    The Olmec civilization lasts from 1200 BCE to 400 BCE. But in 400 BCE to 300 BCE La Venta is destroyed. But because of that the whole Olmec Civilization got destroyed.

    All throughout the Olmecs time they sculpted sculptures that weighed 8 tons and are 3 meters high! The bigger ones with hats on were sculptures of kings wearing a crown. Also the Olmecs buried there statues too.

    In the late 500 BCE the Olmecs ate a lot of food like fruits and vegetables with fish, turtle, snake, and mollusks from the nearby rivers. Crabs, shellfish in the coastal areas. Even Birds were available as food sources. Some other land animals were opossum, raccoon, rabbit, and in particular, deer.

    Also in 500 BCE The Olmecs were good at hunting fishing and even farming. They got food for themselves and for others. With the skin of the animal they kill they use it for clothing.

    In 900 BCE is when La Venta is becoming the capital the population got to 18,000 people in one city! Also it was the very first place in mesoamerica to have a pyramid built on it. Did you know that all the buildings were lined up symmetrically?
