    Henrico School established
    This school was created to native children in reading and knowledge of Christian principles. Most tribes relied on praise and reward than corporal punishment. This school was very successful in teach8ing native americans alongside European colonists. I felt it was all any child would want to learn in a safe and physically free environment with out corporal punishment.

    Cultural influences effected early Colonial America in the early years when the English and European settlers introduced religion, catholic / christian principles in education. I felt this was important and an very big part of native Hisotry, Boarding schools were created and has a big cultural affect on Native Americans.

    G Stanley Hall an American Psychologist pioneered the experimental study of child developement. His goal was to help educators make practical judgments to best educate young people. Halls work helped shift teaching's focus from subject to student. I feel this is important to focus on the child and not just ciriculmn . Child developement palys a part in learning not all children learn at the same rate and age level.

    Brown v. Board of Education
    A suit filed allowing people of color to enroll in public schools serving cacausin students. The U.S Supreme Court agreed in a unanimous ruling. The court felt education was the most important state and local governmetn function. Prepsring young children to become good citizens. an important time in hisotry for civil movement and equal and fair ediucation African Americans..
  • No Child Left Behind Act

    No Child Left Behind Act
    George W. Bish signs the No Child Left Behind Act seeking equality and excellence in education. making states , districts and schools accountable for fixing the unequal chievement among different student populations. Schools had t disaggregate showing academic progress in all test grades in all tested subjects.
