    King Louis XVI called the Estates Generals after a long time including the clergy, noblemen and the rest of France.
  • Tennis Court Oath

    The Third Estate, removed form the Estates General, forms the National Assembly, and they swear to Tennis Court that they won't leave.
  • Storming of the Bastille

    Angry revolutionaries 'stormed' into Bastille. It served as a statement against the monarchy. The mob attained weapons and gunpowder that was kept in the prison cells
  • Declaration of the Rights of Men

    Written text that states all men are equal under law.(women and children were not affected by this passing law)
  • March on Versallies

    Parisian women lead a march on Vesalllies to protest about scarcity and high price of bread
  • Civil Constitution of the Clergy

    Allows French government control of the church. Also in desperate need of money, government starts selling church land.
  • Royal family attempts to flee

    King Louis XVI and his family attempt to flee and are caught at Verannes. They are sent back to Paris where King Louis XVI is forced to go on trial.
  • Execution of the King

    The King is sentenced to death, executed by the guillotine.
  • Execution of Robespierre

    Maximillion is executed and power falls from the Jacobins. Girodins gain power
  • Reign of Terror

    conflict between two political parties, Girondis and Jacobins, caused thousands of deaths by execution. Maximillion arises as a new leader of revolution.
