Berlin Blockade / Airlift
United States along side Britain flew resources into West Berlin, due to Russia building a blockade around Berlin. The resources were dropped from planes above the city. This was done to avoid fighting with Russia. -
Cuban Missile Crisis
Soviet Premier Nikita Khruschev wanted to install nuclear missiles in the nation of Cuba. This would put nuclear missiles 100 miles from Florida. As well as, the United States would've been vulnerable to an attack. -
Vietnam War
The United States wanted to build a strong Vietnamese nation in the South of Vietnam. However North Vietnam wanted communism throughout Vietnam. A war broke out, with over 60,000 American's dead.
