    The Russian Revolution displayed the spread of communism. The soviets had an aggressive democratic policy toward Eastern Europe. Bulshiviks and Manshiviks fought against each other. Bulshiviks were the communist group and the U.S. supported Manshiviks

    The Atomic Bomb - Hiroshima/Nagasaki
    The atomic bombs were first created and dropped by the U.S. on Hiroshima and Nagasaki which put an end to WWII. The Soviets were very upset with the atomic bombs power because the Soviets army would be no match for the atomic bomb.

    The Berlin Blockade was one of the international crises of the Cold war. The Soviet Union blocked off railway, road and canal access to Berlin. This left people starving and some homeless.

    The Berlin Airlift which had lasted for over more than year and had dropped about 2.3 millions tons of cargo and supplies into West Berlin for the people that are stuck.

    Several nations held a conference in Geneva, Switzerland. This conference was to settle issues that came from the Korean war. Nations ended up adopting new proposals and declarations.

    This was an uprising revolt against the communist regime. Students began to march through and protest. As one student died that began the revolution against the communist.

    Martin Luther King a civil rights leader was shot at while he was staying at a motel. Later on pronounce dead. MLK pushed and motivated all blacks around him

    RFK a presidential candidate was wounded mortally after midnight and later pronounced dead after 1 in the morning. RFK had just finished a speaking as he was shot on the way out. Thousands were shocked.

    Five Warsaw pact countries decided to invade Czechoslovakia. 250,000 warsaw pacts had invaded and had killed czechoslovakian civilians and wounded hundreds.

    At a massive protest at Ken State University there were shootings upon unarmed college students. In 13 seconds and 67 shots there were 4 students dead and 9 others wounded.

    Nixon's visit with Chinese was very very important. This was the first time a US president had visited the PRC. Nixon used these visits to gain more leverage on the Soviet Union.
