    The Council of Chalcedon
    The Council of Chalcedon was of Christian leaders in the Roman Empire. It was the ruling of an important step to further clarify the nature of Christ and the orthodox doctrine of the Trinity. This council was the fourth of the first seven Ecumenical Councils in traditional Christianity and it was also one of the most significant event in the church history.

    East-West Schism

    East-West Schism
    The East-West Schism was breaking of the Roman Catholics and Eastern Orthodox. The cause of the breaking was when a French Bishop was elected as Pope Leo IX in 1048 and problems started to occur through out Italy. Many arguments and hate would quickly arise and it would later on split both the Western and Easter Christians.

    The Plague/The Black Death

    The Plague/The Black Death
    The Black Death was the deadly disease that occurred in Europe. It first appeared in the Europe sea in October 1347 when trading ships travelled across the black sea. The people caught the fever surprisingly and most of them would get sick and later on die. When this event happened some believe it was God's punishment for sinning against him but scientist say its just a bacillus called Yersina pestis. Over the few years, the Black Death would kill almost one third of the continent’s population.

    Martin Luther's Publication of 95 Theses
    Martin Luther condemned the excesses and corruption of the Roman Catholic Church, especially the papal practice of asking payment. Martin Luther was frustrated because many of the church members purchased the sales of indulgences in Wittenberg and claimed that they no longer had to repent for their sins. This made Luther very angry which led him to write the 95 Theses and it started to distributed widely. After Luther died, his beliefs had formed the basis for the Protestant Reformation.

    The Council of Trent was the 19th ecumenical council of the Roman Catholic Church. The council was a key role in restoring the many parts of the Europe, the main goals of the council was to address abuses in the Church and to clarify Catholic teaching to meet the Protestant challenges.

    Peace of Augsburg
    The Peace of Augsburg was was the legalisation of Catholicism and Lutheranism in the country of Germany. It was the coexistence and it allowed the leaders to chose one of two as their religion. The result of this divided Europe into the Roman Catholic Church and the new Lutheran Church.

    The First Vatican Council 1869-1870
    The First Vatican Council was assembled by Pope Pius IX in 1869 and ended in 1870, the purpose of this council was to deal with the contemporary problems of the rising influence of rationalism, liberalism, materialism and inspiration of Scripture. The reason for this was not because of a lack of belief in this solution but because some considered it disturbing to take that step at that time.

    The Second Vatican Council was the 21st catholic council of the Roman Catholic Church, the purpose of this was to rebirth the spiritual of the church in the modern world. The intention was to consider reform of the liturgy and to bring people closer as a community and encourage them to participate in church.
