  • Harding for President

    Harding for President
    Harding was born in 1865, he became apart of the Ohio General Assembly in 1898, becoming Ohio lieutenant in 1903, then Untied states Governor in 1914. By 1920 Warren J Harding was president of the United States.
  • Mellon and Prosperity

    Andrew Mellon was secretary of treasury in the 1920's for 3 presidents. In 1921 he convinced Congress to create the Bureau of the Budget to prepare a unified federal budget and the General Accounting Office to track spending. He cut spending from $6.4 billion to less than $3 billion in seven years and he also cut tax rates.
  • Teapot Dome Scandal

    Teapot Dome Scandal
    Harding's secretary of interior, Albert B. Fall, leaked information about the Naval oil reserves at the Teapot Dome in Wyoming, and Elk Hills California later taking bribes up to $30,000.
  • Harding dies

    Harding traveled from Alaska to California becoming ill with a heart attack. He died in San Francisco on August 2nd.
  • "Keep cool with Coolidge"

    Calvin Coolidge was apart of Harding's administration and after all the scandals that have been happening Coolidge quickly distanced himself from Harding. After Harding's death Coolidge he avoided crisis and adopted policies to help the nation stay prosperous, causing him to easily be elected as president.
  • Dawes's plan

    It was important for European countries to remain economically healthy so they could buy American goods and repay their debts from the war, so Charles G. Dawes negotiated an agreement with France, Britain, and Germany that the American banks would make loans to Germany that would enable it to make reparation payments.
