    Employees of Victor Company of Japan, Yuma Shiraishi and Shizuo Takano, worked to invent a VTR for consumers instead of just companies. They invented the VHS before having to shelf the idea due to lack of funding. It wasn't until five years later on September 9, 1976 that they were able to sell their invention. The VHS ended up having a major impact on the film industry and forever changing the culture around movies. Today however, the format is mostly used in analog horror.

    Created by IBM, floppy disks were a way to store information and data even when the computer was off. It developed in various forms up until the late 1990's when other technology over took the market. So while they are still around in a multitude, they are rarely needed or used.

    Nolan Bushnell and Ted Dabney created the first arcade game, and began their rise in popularity. It was soon after, the golden age of arcade video games began and they took the USA by storm. With how popular they became and the games inspired by them after, I would dare say that this invention created a domino effect of the love of games that inspire many people to learn coding.

    Since the invention of the handheld phone by Martin Cooper, it has become on of the most sold electronics. It is a constantly changing and improving from where it has started and will most likely continue to do so. When it was first out, people saw it as a status symbol but now it is a commodity that is with every part of our lives.

    The company that would soon become the worlds largest tech company started out with Apple I. It was a personal computer that had a video display terminal. It wasn't long, however, until it was discontinues for Apple II. Now while the invention itself did not last long, the company it helped get started has had a much bigger impact.
