  • Invention of the Typewriter

    Invention of the Typewriter
Christopher Latham Sholes a american printer and editor invented the typewriter in 1867 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Christopher created the typewriter because of the patent for page numbering machine but different idea evolved to having a letter- printing machine to have a writing machine (to type things like a book)The typewriter became a revolution in communication.

This happened by Christopher being granted a patent, later he sold his patent rights for $12,000 to Remington Arms Company was equipped with machinery and skill that resulted in the machine being marketed as the Remington typewriter. Using his knowledge the reason he sold his patent was to have the typewriter improved/updated for better selling. Innovator Dr. John Smith Pemberton

  • Innovator Theophilus Van Kannel

    Innovator Theophilus Van Kannel
Theophilus Van Kannel invented the revolving door in 1888, the door was patent on August 7th, 1888. He invented the door in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania because in high-rise buildings regular doors are hard to open. They were due to a slight vacuum caused by air flowing upwards. The revolving door also saved heat during the winter better than a normal door. Kannel mostly wanted to invent the door because he hated chivalry and hated opening doors for women.
  • Theophilus Van Kannel Continued

Kannel using his knowledge of normal doors wanted to improve them. He thought that a revolving door would be easier to open and kept in the heat and didn't let the cold seep in. The door also kept out street noises and fumes. Revolving doors started replacing normal doors in tall buildings all over. Sources:

  • Invention of the Tractor

    Invention of the Tractor
The tractor was invented by John Froehlich a blacksmith. It was the first gasoline powered tractor that could be driven backwards and forwards. The tractor was invented in 1892 in Northeast Iowa. It was invented because steam powered engines were bulky, heavy, and hard to maneuver. Also they had a threat to starting fires to grain and other things in the field.
  • Invention of the Tractor

The technology of there being a gasoline powered tractor instead of a steam powered tractor made the threshing process of grain faster, and improved how efficient the tractor was at threshing (like how much it picked up).
