    It had happened in Luisiana in which the arrest of Plessy had violateed thee 14th amndment when he had sat in a white only zone on the train, resulting in him getting arrested. Homer Adolph Plessy had refused to move from his seat in the white section only and it had been brought to court since it might have violated th law. It was an important event as it had been brought up to the court and had marked a change that they are seperate but equal.

    It was originally five sperate cases, they all had different issues but the main point concerning them was segregation and they were put undder one name by th Supreme court. It discussed sgregation and how it violated the 14th amendment, that it was unequal. It was very important since all five cases where reheard because it was har to come to a sulution and after it had changed things when it was declared that segregation in public schools was unconstitutional.

    Emmet Till was a 14 year old boy who had been killed by two white males because he had been flirting with white female and then four dyas later was killed. He had gone to Mississippi to visit relatives. It had sparked a chnage when he was killed since the two white males had been excused from their crimes by the judge and had been a push that leas to the emerging civil rights movement at the time.

    It had been on December, in Montgomery Alabama when Rosa Parks had sat down in the front row of the colored section, the driver had demanded that she move back but she had refused. After she had refused to give up her seat, she was fined $10 and arrested. It was important as her rebellion jad trigerred a chain of events that chnaged things for the better, in helping with the revolution.

    The (SCLC) had been created by sixty black ministers and civil rights leaders who met and tried to do another boyott similiar to the succesful bus boycott. King had been chosen to be the first president of the organization, that was stablishe to en segregation. The organization ha been the start of the civil rights movement, it impacted the people to change.

    The Little Rock Nine jad been nine students who had the first to integrate in a all white high school. After the Supreme Court had ruled that Segregation is not constitutional, because of the five cases, it allowed blacks to go to high school. The nine students who had gone had been protected by federal troops to be able to enter and it had been a major event in helping the emerging of the Civil Rights Movement, as colored could attend a old white high school, it marked a new change.

    Non-violent protest by young African-American students had sat in a lunch counter for whites only in North Carolina. They had sat there and would do nothing, they would be harrased by white's and then they would be arrested for simply sitting in a white only zone.
    This event had sparked a series of similiars movements, throughtout the state by other people, and they would do the samething, protest in a non-violent way. It had made a lasting impact that helped progress the civil rights movement.
  • Freedom Ride/Freedom Riders

    The first Freedom Ride had been when seven blacks and six whites left Washington D.C. on two buses, because they wanted to test the ruling that declared segregation on buses to be unconstitutional. They had been attacked by white poeple, endured a lot of suffering and one of their buses had been burned down but they had continued. it had generated a lot of support by others and had also inspired others to do the same, it had led to the end of segregation on transportation.

    It jad been a march of more than 200,000 people who had wanted equal rights in getting jobs and their freedom. It had pressured Kennedy in doing something as well as King had given his "I have a dream" speech there. It had done a great job in pushing forward the rights of African Americans as Congress started to take action in solving those problems .

    It had been a civil rights organization that had been made to protest so it would increase voter registration in Mississippi. It had been mostly made out of blacks and 1,000 white volunteers who helped their cause, they had faced a lot of abuse and hareasment by the people who lived there. It had gained help as the non-violent protesters were hopeful in changing things for the better, but it had divided poeple who beleived if their equality was reachable with peaceful means.

    The Civil Rights Act had been made because of everything that was happening in the south after the Civil War, blacks were being attacked and were not able to do anything. It had been proposed by Kennedy and had remained even though many southerners had opposed it. It ended segregation in public places and had banned employment discrimination on who they were as well as what type of gender, it helped give them rights.

    He had been asassinated by a rival black muslim while he had been talking to his organization. His home had been bombed and one week after that had happened he was shot to death. Even though he had died his effeorts in his civil rights movement had helped with making Afeican Americans have equal rights.

    It had been made by President Johnson so it could help overcome the barriers African Americnas faced in not being able to vote. They had it hard as a lot of whites didnt like them having rights and couldnt exercise their 15th amendment. It had helped in widening blacks rights and it had been a big movement for civil rights.

    Martin Luther King Jr. had been assassinated in Tennessee when he had been shot in the neck by a sniper. He had been there since he had called a meeting there with other associates. His death had changed things for the better as many poeple had been fueled to continue on what he was trying to do, many poeple had been angered and there had been many riots that took place in more than 100 cities, it helped with creating the Civil Rights Act of 1968.
