    One of the most important principles of Roman law was definitely that all citizens had the right to equal treatment under the law. This means that no matter who you were, you were treated fairly. Slaves, other people of lower class, and women were all equal.
    The next principle of Roman law that I find the most important, is that someone is innocent until proven guilty. This created one of the major laws that we still use today. We can't just assume that someone did a crime.

    Augustus Caesar was the grandnephew of Julius Caesar. He ruled from 27 B.C. to 14 A.D. which was 40 years. One major accomplishment that he had put into place was the Pax Romana. The Pax Romana gave a long 200 years of peace to Rome. Another thing that Augustus was responsible for would be that he was the founder and first emperor of the Roman empire.

    Jesus was the Son of God, who taught everyone about the Christian faith. Jesus preached about everything, really. He really focused on defending the Jewish faith and talking about God. In the Sermon on the mount, Jesus talked about his ethical message which echoed Jewish ideas of mercy and sympathy for the poor and helpless.

    Constantinople was the capital of the Roman and Byzantine empires. The city was founded by Emperor Constantinople, near the already existing city of Byzantium. As for the division of the Roman Empire, it divided during 284 A.D. Diocletian seized power and declared himself leader. He soon after split the Roman Empire in half.
