    Hitler was inspired by the Italians march on Rome so he decided to seize power in Munich. It was a failed attempt and Hitler was thrown in jail and tried for treason. He only served 9 months of his 5 year sentence.

    While in prison he wrote Mien Kampf. He stated that Germans were the master race. He said that Germany was over crowded and that they needed more living space. He promised to get this new land by queering eastern Europe and Russia. After Hitler left prison he revived the Nazi Party. Most people ignored him until the depression .
  • Growing Party

    The Nazi Party becomes the largest political party in Germany.
  • Chancellor

    Hitler becomes the chancellor of Germany. He gains real political power for the first time.
  • New elections

    Hitler called for a new election. The Nazi Party won the popular vote giving Hitler more power, he knew the people would follow him because he had so much control.
  • Totalitarian State

    The building where the German Parliament meets was burned down. The Nazis quickly blamed the communist party, this allowed the Nazi party win the election and Hitler makes Germany a Totalitarian state.
  • Schutzstaffel

    Hitler created the Schutzstaffel, witch was only loyal to him. The Schutzstaffel murdered hundreds of Hitlers enemies. The secret police shocked Germany into total obedience.
  • Nuremberg

    Large political rallies that supported the Nazi party. This rally was to tell the German people that they would not be following the Treaty of Versailles.
  • Kristallnacht

    In two days, over 250 synagogues were burned, over 7,000 Jewish businesses were trashed and looted, dozens of Jewish people were killed, and Jewish cemeteries, hospitals, schools, and homes were looted while police and fire brigades stood by. German Jewish men were arrested for the "crime" of being Jewish and sent to concentration camps.
