Hitler Joined the Germans Workers Party
After investigating the party by attending one of their meetings, Hitler was moved by the speeches on the economy, politics, and propaganda. Hitler then made is own speech at the meeting against another man who suggested splitting Germany and forming a new South German nation with Austria. Two days later, Hitler recieved a letter saying that he had been accepted to the party. -
Hitler took over the German Workers Party
Hitler took over the German Workers Party by making a speech to its members, through which he changed its name to the National Socialist German Workers Party (Nazi Party for short). His first act as leader in the party was to only accept members of 'aryan decent'. -
Stalin is promoted to General Secretary of the Communist Party
Stalin becomes reponsible for placing people in specific jobs. Through this he begins adressing crows of communists, gaining more power. -
Hitler- Beer Hall Putsch (Munic Putsch)
Hitler in charge of the Nazi Party led a coalition group in an attempt to overthrow the German Federal Government. After firing his pistol in the air, he spoke infront of the Beer Hall crowd and kidnapped the Bavarian triumvirate, where he threatened them for their support in his act. Once the Bavarian triumvirate were set free, they denounced the overthrow and ordered police and military units to suppress it. Hitler was then arrested and sent to prison for 9 months, where he wrote Mein Kampf. -
Hitler Released from Prison
Hitler was released from prison a few days before Christmas. From his time in prison Hitler was enlightened and began dedicating his life to rebuilding the Nazi Party making it the largest group in the whole of Germany. -
Stalin's First Five-Year Plan Begun
Since the USSR's economy was rapidy dropping, Stalin began developing iron and steel, machine-tools, electric power and transport. He promoted the industrialization by claiming that the USSR would be un-protected for invasions if they did not have these resources. -
Stalin- Peak-Collectivization in the USSR
Stalin began collectivization of acriculture in the USSR, using his army to enforce it. The peasents revolted by killing their animals and burning their crops. However, famine then broke out from the shortage in food. -
Hitler Becomes the Chancellor of a Coalition Government
Due to popularity, Hitler was appointed as the Chancellor of a Coalition Government, from which the Nazi Party gained a third of the seats in the German Parliament (Reichstag), becoming the largest party in Germany. -
Hitler- Reichstag Fire
This event is claimed to be one of the first important acts of the German Communists, where they set alight Germany's parliamentary building. The Nazi's, working in oppisition of the communists, used propaganda to turn Germany against the communists. -
Hitler becomes Fuhrer
When the German President Paul von Hindenburg died, Hitler became the absolute dictator of Germany and called himself the Fuhrer (leader). The German army took an oath of illegance towards Hitler, becoming a pert of the Nazi mission. -
Stalin- The Great Terror
Stalin targeted every person that was against him, including members of his cabinet and government, soldiers, clergy, and citizens. Stalin sent out his secret police to torture, imprison, or kill these people. -
Stalin signed a non-aggression pact with Hitler
In order for Hitler to protect his country, he signed a non-agression pact with Stalin so that the USSR would not attack Germany from the east whilst they were fighting in the west. -
WWII Begins
Germany invaded Poland. France and Britain declared war on Germany. -
Pearl Harbor
Japanese bombers attacked the American naval base at Pearl Harbor in an attempt to 'cripple' the U.S fleet. However, the attempt failed and President Franklin Roosevelt odered the U.S into the war to help fight against the German and Japanese forces. -

USSR was invaded by Germany, breaking the non-agression pact, causing the USSR to join forces with Britain, France, & USA (the Allies) and fight against Germany -
