    The thirty years war

    The thirty years war was a 17th century religious war fought mainly in central Europe. It is one of the longest and brutal wars in human history, more than 8 million died from the battle as well as from disease from the battle. The war lasted from 1618 to 1648 it was a battle against the catholic and protestant states that formed the Holy Roman Empire.
  • The English Bill of Rights

    The English Bill of Rights was an act signed by into law in 1689 by William III and Mary II, they became co-rulers in England after the overthrow of King James II. The bill outlined specific constitutional and civic rights. It is also credited as being an inspiration for the U.S. Bill of Rights.

    War of the Austrian Succession

    Between 1740 and 1748, most of Europe's great powers were all involved in a war caused by the question of Maria Theresa's succession to the Austrian Habsburg Crown. War of Austrian Succession was a conglomeration of related wars, two of which started directly from the death of Charles VI.
  • Stamp Act

    The stamp act of 1765 was the first internal tax on american colonist. The act imposed a tax on all paper documents in the colonies, it came at a time when the British Empire was deep in debt from the Seven Years War. British Parliament past the Stamp Act to help replenish their finances after the costly Seven Tears War.

    The American Revolution was also known as The Revolutionary War went from 1775 to 1783. It started because there was growing tensions between the people of Great Britain's thirteen North American colonies and the colonial government. Americans fought the war in land with two types of organizations, the continental army and the state militias
  • Treaty of Paris

    The Treaty of Paris of 1783 ended the Revolutionary War. American statesmen Benjamin Franklin, John Adams and John Jay negotiated the peace treaty. In the Treaty of Paris, the British Crown recognized American Independence and gave most of its territory East of the Mississippi River to the United States.

    French Revolution

    The French Revolution was a period of time in France when the people overthrew the monarchy and took control of the government. It went from July 14 1789 and ended in 1799. The Reign of Terror took place during this time as well. The French Revolution completely changed the social and political structure of France. It also put an end to French monarchy feudalism, and took political power from the Catholic Church

    The tennis court oath was a pledge signed by 576 members ot of 577 members of France's third estate on July 20, 1789 in a tennis court near the Palace of Versailles. The oath was a commitment to national constitution and representative government
  • Storming of the Bastille

    The storming of Bastille took place in Paris France on July 14, 1789. This violent attack on the government by the people of France started the French Revolution. The Bastille was a fortress built in the late 1300's to protect Paris during the Hundred Years War. The people who stormed the Bastille were mostly craftsmen and store owners who lived in Paris. There was around 1000 men that participated in the attack.

    Reign of Terror

    The Reign of Terror was a horrible and violent period during the French Revolution. It began on September 5, 1793 and ended on July 27, 1794. Radicals took control of the revolutionary government. They arrested and executed anyone who they suspected might not be loyal to the revolution. Around 17,000 people were executed in France and over 200,000 people were arrested
