Witch Story
When I was younger my dad would tell me a story about a witch that caught children in her garden and then cooked them alive. It was the first story that I cried when it was being told to me. -
Dr. Suess
At first my parents read these books to me. Then I started to read them to my parents, my favorite book being "Go, Dog, Go". -
Bob Books
These are the first books I started to read on my own in pre-school. -
Berenstain Bears
I shifted into these slightly harder books after I had read each Dr. Suess book at least 5 times. (maybe more) -
Magic Treehouse
These were the first books that I read that actually had chapters. They helped me transition from easier picture books to harder books in elementary school. -
Percy Jackson Series
This was a series of books that I read during third grade. They got me hooked on Greek Mythology and I'm still rereading these books today. -
Harry Potter
I also read the first Harry Potter book in third grade. I finished the series in fifth grade, and now they are one of my favorite book series. -
Heroes of Olympus
I started this series in 5th grade. They are written by the same author as the Percy Jackson series, and they are based off of Greek Mythology too, so that's what inspired me to read it. -
Hunger games
These were the first dystopian books I read, and I've been hooked ever since. It has had a great influence on the books I choose to read today. -
Artemis Fowl
I read this series last year, and I really liked it. I related to these books more than eny of the other books I've read, because Artemis was 12 years old and really smart, and I was twelve and in quest when I read these books. -
Gone Series
I'm still reading these books right now. They changed my perspective on what a horror story is, because these books make you involuntarily shiver and gasp, even though the plot doesn't sound that scary.
