    I was born in Burnsville, Minnesota, as the third child of Tarik and Jackie Shirif. My mom had me completely naturally, and I was six pounds and three ounces. I was extremely yellow due to jaundice (my liver didn't work) and my umbilical cord was twisted into a knot. However, all of these complications were minor and I spent a week in the hospital under a bright light that somehow brought my body back to normal.

    My parents decided to move us to Arizona because they were tired of the Minnesota cold and wanted a cheap, warm place to live.

    World Trade CenterOn this day the world was changed by the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. Two comemrcial airline flights were hijacked by members of the extremist Islamic terrorist group Al Qaeda. Thousands were killed.

    My sister taught me how to ride a bike. I never really became good at it until I got a bike senior year and began riding two miles a dsy.

    On this day I found out my parents were going to get divorced. It really sucked. it was my sister who told me, which sucked even more. I cried for a few seconds and then went to my room to ruminate.

    On this day I attended my first speech tournament as an entry in Humorous Interpretation at Mountain View High School's Toro Country Classic. I did not even break to semifinals.

    National TournamentMy friend Camryn Page-Bottorff and I qualified for the National Tournament in Duo Interpretation. We made it to octofinals (top 60) and I made it to semifinals in storytelling.

    GAP Care SolutionsOn this day I began my first job. I was an assistant secretary at GAP Care Solutions, a company my dad owns. My boss was named Kelly and her boss was named Jodie.

    This time, I qualified in humorous interpretation, along with my best friend of the time, Devin Dye. We both broke to octofinals.

    On this day I will graduate from Desert Ridge High School at the Wells Fargo Arena in Tempe. As of now I am first in my class, thus my counselor said there are high chances I will deliver a speech at the ceremony!
