  • Coup D’état

    in 1799 the directory lost control, and the confidence of the french people. Napoleon returned from egypt, and with his friends influence, his troops surrounded national legislation and drove most of them out. The lawmakers that remained made a group of three consuls, Napoleon was one of these people
  • Concordat

    Napoleon signed a concordat with Pope Pius VII, this concordat made it so that the church couldn't control national affairs, and napoleon gained the support of the church and well as a lot of the people of france.
  • Loss of American Territories

    African slaves in american colonies start to start a fighting for their rights. In 1801 Napoleon decides to take back companies to restore the productive sugar factories. Unfortunately the french forces were devastated by disease, napoleon losing faith in colonies then decides to sell the Louisiana Territory to President Jefferson in 1803.

    Napoleon made his comprehensive system of laws. This laws gave the country a uniform set of laws. These laws actually limit liberty and promote order and authority over individual rights.

The british in fear of Napoleon's ambitions form an alliance with Russia, Australia, and sweden. Napoleon defeated his opponents, and in 1805 he issued proclamation expressing his pride to his troops.

    Napoleon set up a blockade between Great Britain and other european countries. He called this policy the continental system. This was supposed to make Great Britain more self-sufficient. Many did not support this idea, and Great britain still managed to have smugglers for europe.

    Russia refused to stop selling grain to britain, even though Napoleon didn't what russa to. napoleon decided to invade Russia for this. On 1812 napoleon marched his grand army, and russia pulled back only to set up a trap called the scorched earth policy, were they burn all the crop field and livestock so Napoleon's soldiers would have nothing to eat.

    Napoleon escapes from exile to regain power, the current government of france is already unpopular with the citizens of france and welcome Napoleon back. The british army prepared to battle napoleon's forces near the village of Waterloo. Napoleon attacked on June 18, 1815, and the British and Prussian forces ending up winning.

    The british was taking no chances and sent Napoleon to St. Helena (remote island in south atlantic. He died in 1821 of a stomach ailment, or maybe cancer.
