    Early in Napoleons military career he needed an expedition in Egypt to disrupt trade with British. Battles took place in Nepal and lost most. Even though he did bad in Egypt he hid his failures in battle. Citizens of France never let go of his loss.

    Napoleon declares himself Consul for life (green)
    Napoleon brought military success to France and brought them into many battles that he won for them. As time went on and he became more successful he moved up to become a political leader. After he reclaimed the Louisiana territory for France he called himself consul for life.
