  • Concord and Lexington

    Concord and Lexington
    Warned by Paul Revere, colonists battle 800 British troops at Concord. 73 British troops died and 49 colonists died. This marked the beginning of the Revolutionary war.
  • Battle of Bunker Hill

    Battle of Bunker Hill
    Commanded by General Gage, the British attacked the Americans that were occupying Bunker Hill. The British were victorious when the Colonists were forced to withdraw, even though the British suffered.

    The Continental Congress authorized 2 armed ships to try and intercept 2 British ships on the way to Canada. In the end, the Americans captured about 200 British naval ships.

    General Cornwallis went from Petersburg to Yorktown to begin preparing a naval base. Meanwhile, George Washington moved south and surrounded the British army, forcing them to surrender. This victory by General Washington ends the Revolutionary War.
